You know it's a bad day when...
You get a phone call from the big boss and she says. "Come to my office." Once there she proceeds to tell you that your services are no longer needed. That was the story for me last Friday. What was interesting is that both of my bosses were more upset about the situation than I was. It is incredible the peace and excitement I have felt about actually losing my job. Now the whole thing did not come as a surprise. We were told two months ago that they would be laying people off in two waves. When the first wave came and went I was a little disappointed that I wasn't one of those laid off. Weird I know! Once I heard about the possibility of a layoff, my mind began to think of all the possibilities. All of the things I could do. Things that God might do. David wrote in Psalm 37:25, "I have been young, and now am old;Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread." The God who created all that we see, Who can speak something in to existence, loves my family more than I do. I have seen Him provide for us many times when there was nothing I could do. What Satan intends to undo us can be the very thing that God uses to bless us. What may have seemd like a bad day to many will end up being the beginning of a great blessing for me and my family. God is good, all the time, not just some of the time. Blessed be Your name O' Lord during winter and harvest! I will take a "Bad" day with God rather than a "Good" day without Him anyday.
