Spit me out!

What a whale of a day this had been! (Pun intended) Trying to get to the beach has been quite a challenge. It can be a dangerous thing to wonder what else could go wrong. I wondered what else could go wrong as we prepared to go on our vacation and I kept getting phone call after phone call telling me what else did go wrong. By the time we actually make it vacation, I am going to need one really bad. Father help me to see all of this through your eyes. Help me to view these challenges from your perspective. They are just temporary setbacks on a journey toward something far better. I imagine that Jonah's perspective changed once he was inside the whale. Suddenly the things that seemed like such a big deal turned into seaweed. What he was once willing to risk everything for became something that was trivial, no big deal. The big picture came back in to focus. He was now willing to do whatever God wanted him to do. I am trying to get there. One moment I pray, "Thy will be done." The next moment when a challenge comes my way I mutter, "What else could go wrong!" God is so gracious. He could let me find out what else could go wrong if He wanted to. I am glad is not fickle like me or Jonah. So here I sit. Having taken another moment to pause and say, "Lord, Thy will be done." And this time I really mean it. So spit me out on the beach cause I am ready to go where You lead.
